J. Essential Daily Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Main Duties

    2. To attain orders and supporting the development of long term customer relationships. The function involves continuous communications with customers or potential customers via various marketing techniques to locate potential customers, follow up with current and potential customers, assisting the customer with applications engineering techniques to resolve problems with heating, cooling, air purifying, and water system, quoting customer systems, and showing appreciation to the customer for orders received. The individual aggressively concentrates on expanding the base in order to sustain the sales volume and the targeted profit goals of Shaw's Incorporated.

      a. Meet any customer who contacts Shaw's Incorporated requesting Shaw's Incorporated services. This includes but not limited to request for HVAC and plumbing services

      b. Be responsible for and required to generate sales leads. Provide input for the creation and development of sales leads in the commercial business.

      c. Create and promote the company image by maintaining a well-groomed image. Handling themselves with courteous mannerisms and language. Exercising sound and ethical business practices as related to customers and the public. Serves as a role model for all personnel through enthusiastic performance of all duties.

      d. Maintains a cooperative, professional working relationship with all personnel up and down the chain of command, with co-workers, and with customers.

      e. Present a positive, helpful approach to internal as well as external interactions, and exercises sound and ethical business practices which enhance and maintain the company image

      f. Respond to all customer requests within four (4) hours of the time of being made aware the request exists. All customer requests are to be followed through to the customer's satisfaction.

      g. The sales position is not to be considered a “nine to five job” The sales person is required to be available to meet with the customer or potential customer as follows.

      i. Every Monday through Friday 7am to 7pm

      ii. Every Saturday 8am to 3pm

      iii. Sundays and holidays At the discretion of the employee

      iv. It is the intent that the sales person will meet with the customer at the time is convenient to the customer.

      h. A minimum of three (3) sales calls per week day and two sales calls per weekend as needed, with understanding that all sales leads must be acted upon and resolved to the customers satisfaction.

      i. Make sales presentation including but not limited to proposals, literature, and pricing on all sales calls. This is to be completed on-site at the time of the meeting with the customer unless circumstances exist which make a presentation impractical. Should a sales presentation be given the sales person must “ask for the sale” at least one time during the meeting, preferably more than once.

      j. Work with the servicemen who are in the field, so that the servicemen may present proposal to service customers immediately on-site.

      k. Continually improve your knowledge in respect to sales techniques, equipment knowledge and general industry advancement by staying abreast of new HVAC and plumbing advancements and chances; taking advantage of continuing education opportunities.

      l. Respect the confidentially of company owned records and information including business plans and market strategy, customer lists and sales data etc. Understand and maintains the strictest confidence pertaining to any and all sensitive company or personal employee information.

      m. See that a sales lead number is generated for each sales call and tracking of call to its resolution.

      n. Maintain any statistics which the company deem necessary for the tracking of sales.

      o. Complete and submit any and all paperwork related to the sale or the sales department that is deemed necessary by the company within the time frame deemed appropriate by the sales manager.

      p. Generate their own proposals and correspondence. No hand written proposal or pricing is ever to be presented to the customer.

      q. Notify the appropriate departments and coordinate the scheduling of jobs with the proper installation department and/or the service department managers. The installation or service department manager will have the final scheduling authority. Under no circumstances is the sales person to promise installation or start dates without acquiring approval of the date with the installation and/or service department managers.

      r. Respond to and resolve to the customers satisfaction any and all customer complaints that the sales person becomes aware of, including but not limited to complaints resulting from problems with the installation and/or service departments. To constantly recognize problems, prioritize them and use tact in investigating and handling difficult situations. Ensures that all internal management involved is current with the resolution as well as the problem in order to take corrective action and avoid further occurrences. Passes to the sales manager or other responsible manager those situations or problems that cannot be rectified personally.

      s. To try to make a site visit on all projects.

      t. Carry the company provide mobile phone at all times. The sales person will provide the customers and potential customers with their phone number and email address.

      u. Be responsible and held accountable for job profitability.

      v. Be accountable to the sales manager, keeping the sales manager aware or your schedule and where-about at all times. Be accountable to the receptionist keeping the receptionist aware of your schedule and where-about at all times.

      w. Communicate with the sales manager as to the progress, status, and results of all sales leads.

      x. Meet with the sales manager on a regular basis as determined by the sales manager. During these meetings any statistical data and sales tracking data or information will be presented as deemed necessary by the sales manager.

      y. Completes in accurate and timely manner any other tasks and duties or special projects as may be assigned.

    3. Job profitability

      a. It is expected that every sales made by sales person will result in profit for the company. The amount of profit will be determined by Shaw's Incorporated and made clear to the sales person.

      b. Sales resulting in a loss or less than the determined profit level will be reviewed by the President, Vice President or General manager, the sales person who made the sale, and the manager of the installation and/or service manager which completed the task.

      c. Review findings which indicate that the sales person has incorrectly or inappropriately estimated the job may or may not result in loss or reduction of the sales commission.

      d. It is the intent of Shaw's Incorporated to provide the sales person with all the tolls, skills, and knowledge to be successful.

      e. Should jobs have profitability problems, the focus will be placed on understanding the problems with the intent to correct and prevent any future occurrences.

K. Supervision of others:

J. Essential Daily Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Main Duties

      a. Check in with the office scheduled jobs after the completion of each job and at the end of each day.

      b. Proficient brazing/soldering skills.

      c. Responsible for time management of jobs scheduled each day.

      d. Check with client at the beginning and at the end of each task. Obtain client signature on the company provided forms where applicable.

      e. Hand in all paperwork on a daily basis if possible with no less than a weekly basis determined by the service manager.

      f. Complete and turn in a weekly time sheet at the specified time per the service manager.

      g. Ensure that all materials used for each task are listed properly on the company provided forms.

      h. Ensure that all vendor slips and invoices for each and all jobs are attached to the related job form.

      i. Answer all office calls, texts and emails in a timely manner.

      j. Check as needed to ensure the office dispatcher and/or service manager are aware of your status.

      k. Secure parts and tools needed throughout the day for various jobs as required.

      l. Call in repairs that are not listed in the flat rate book to get the necessary pricing for a home owner as per the specific time and materials need for the task.

      m. Work alongside of co-workers and construction crews on all installations/remodels, and work within the construction schedules agreed upon.

      Consult the dispatcher in times on uncertainty.

    2. As needed, may be required to perform the following:

      a. Inspect and operate HVAC systems and related equipment to determine that all are functioning properly.

      b. Maintain and repair HVAC and related systems.

      c. Take measurements, read thermometers, and gauges and record readings.

      d. Make adjustments to thermostatic controls and blowers.

      e. Lubricate and/or service compressors, motors, and other moving and/or functioning parts of an HVAC system as needed.

      f. Assist the HVAC preventative maintenance team as needed.

      g. Keep supervisor informed of significant events and circumstances related to the technician's responsibilities. Also ensure that all communication with members of management; co-workers; site supervisors; and home/business owners are accurate and to the point as it relates to the business at hand.

      h. As needed and skill level permit; assist other trades with in the company.

      i. Take responsibility for the accurate and timely completion of any and all required paper work.

      j. Perform each day's tasks according to the work-order; service-ticket as dispatched by the office dispatcher./p>

      k. Provide maximum customer service, accurate communication, and extreme courtesy to all business/home owners and fellow co-workers.

K. Supervision of others:

    1. Helpers working alongside the main technician and on special occasions other team members.

L. Education and work experience:

    1. Must have a Maryland Journeyman license and EPA certification.

    2. Must have N.A.T.E certification.

    3. Must have at least 10 years of service experience in the HVAC industry.

    4. Must have a High School Diploma or GED certificate.

M. Additional Requirements:

    1. Excellent logistical knowledge of the Talbot County and surrounding area.

    2. Must be able to drive to local job sites on a daily basis.

    3. Overtime hours as needed.

    4. Good hygiene and cleanliness is required at all times.

    5. Must adhere to company uniform policy.

    6. Maintain a clean vehicle and make office aware of maintenance issues.

    7. Follow the rules and regulations as described in the company handbook.
